Mayor de Blasio skipped town Saturday to spend time with fellow Dems following his highly anticipated sit-down with federal prosecutors from U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara’s office.
It was politics as usual for de Blasio as he schmoozed with party officials in Atlanta, where the Democrats named Tom Perez as their new national chairman.
A day earlier, the mayor had a much less chummy meeting as he was questioned for roughly four hours by feds looking into allegations that donors to his mayoral campaign were promised favors.
De Blasio made the weekend trip to the Athens of the South to lobby for Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), who lost to Perez.
