Efi Lubliner has an eye when it comes to finding international films that have wide audience appeal, bringing Oscar foreign film contenders to local venues, with three last season.
This month is no different as the International Film Showcase is featuring The Salesman – written and directed by Iranian writer and director Asghar Farhadi, starting Feb. 24 with a weeklong screening at the Orinda Theater and a one-time viewing at the circa 1928 El Campanil Theatre in Antioch on Feb. 26.
The Lafayette resident’s film selection criteria are interwoven, appealing to both his old-fashioned nature and his signature passion for the genre.
