New neighbors disrupt once-quiet neighborhood


Q: I live near downtown Fairfield on one of the state streets. There is a duplex about three doors down the street. For years the owner, an elderly gentleman, lived in one unit and he rented the other one to kids who were going to Solano College. We never had any problems. Unfortunately, the owner died this past summer and now there are tenants living in both units. These tenants aren’t college kids. They look trashy and don’t appear to work since they are hanging around all day, working on cars they keep parked on what used to be the lawn, and are generally loud at all hours of the day and night. The police have come to the place at least four or five times in the past six months. More to the point, we have trouble sleeping, one of the cars we keep parked in our driveway has been vandalized and our life has generally been driven into the gutter by these…
