Spanish and Chinese – Their Influences on Philippine Cuisine

Filipino cooking style is a combination numerous indigenous foreign culture and influences. Before the time of Ferdinand Magellan’s discovery of the Philippine on March 17, 1521 early Filipinos was interacting with other country through exchanges of trades and culture. Chinese, Malaysian and Indonesian traveler use to visit Philippines for Philippine food spices in exchange for their item. Because of the colonization of Spanish in Philippines for more than 300 years, the Spaniards has become the greatest contributory on Philippines cultural tradition and especially with its taste on food.
