Three Ways to Store Cardstock for Personal and Professional Projects

Cardstock is suitable for both personal and professional projects such as making greeting cards, brochures, and so. In order to fold this type of paper, it needs to be score beforehand. Scoring is just creating an indentation in the paper so it won’t crack when it’s folded. Scoring your cardstock will make your finished product look more professional and there are three ways you can achieve this. Here they are:

 

  • The straight edge method. One of the easiest ways to score your cardstock is by using a straight edge in conjunction with a craft knife, butter knife, or a bone folder. All you really need to do is line up the straight edge where you want to score the paper and gently run the tool along the edge of the ruler. You should apply just enough pressure to leave an indentation on the paper without slicing through it. (This can be a bit tricky with a craft knife.
