GILMER – On a busy street in downtown Gilmer, a small music studio is quietly changing lives, one tune at a time.
It’s easy to zoom past Stuart Butler’s School of Guitar without taking note of its presence, but linger a bit and listen.
At certain times, original music wafts from the studio – a stark contrast to the world outside where ranchers rumble past, hauling dusty livestock trailers and sacks of feed.
“It’s just home,” said Butler, who set up shop about two years ago. “I see that things are different, but it’s not a big deal. Some people are excited to see something like this … others don’t really think about it.”
At just 26, Butler owns and operates his own studio, 208 E. Marshall St., based on the belief that people with a desire to learn music, usually can.
People who come to him for music assistance apparently have different motivations.
